5 years ago, Froome was a guy whose team didn't want to renew his contract - they rather let him walk than pay top domestique money..
Look at any rider who won, or finished within 1m of winner in a GC in last 20 yrs. They'd all proven their class before... except Froome.
Ugrumov or Riis are the only ones to even resemble it. But they were at 60% hct going by documents.

Froome craves being seen among the greats. No Matter how many times he wins it this won't happen. The hardcore don't & never will believe.
